This Privacy Policy explains how TypeStrip (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our mobile application (“App”) and related services. By using TypeStrip, you agree to the terms of this policy.

On-Device Processing

TypeStrip performs text recognition (OCR) on images directly on your device. Text content extracted from images is processed locally and does not leave your device unless you choose to upload it.

User-Provided Information

We may collect:

  • Email address you optionally provide for beta access.

  • Account email if you choose to sign in.

  • Scan text and other data you choose to save or upload.

Authentication

If you sign in, we use Supabase Auth to manage your credentials. We do not receive or store your password — this is handled securely by Supabase.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and improve the App.

  • Store your scanned text and related metadata (if you are signed in).

  • Send beta access information and optional updates (only if you consent to provide an email).

  • Communicate with you about your account and the App.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

We may share information with:

  • Service providers (e.g., Supabase) who help us run the App.

  • Legal or safety disclosures, if required by law or to protect rights.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data may be stored:

  • Locally on your device.

  • In encrypted form on Supabase if you choose to sign in and allow cloud sync.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no system is 100% secure. You understand and agree that you provide information at your own risk.

5. Third-Party Services

We rely on third-party services such as:

  • Supabase (storage & authentication)

  • Apple frameworks (OCR, system APIs)

These services have their own privacy policies. We do not control them.

6. Your Choices

You may:

  • Delete your data from the App at any time.

  • Disable cloud sync by signing out.

  • Withdraw consent to receive beta or promotional emails.
